Hemant Jain, Founder and CEO
The firm has been founded by Hemant Jain, who most recently set up and managed India offices of a business intelligence firm where he hired, trained and led a staff of 90 people. The India centre was responsible of managing proprietary business intelligence databases of top global investment banks and delivered several business intelligence reports to clients who include COOs, Business Managers and Head of Strategy at these banks. Prior to that, Hemant worked at Morgan Stanley’s securitization division in London as Associate. Hemant holds an MBA from the HEC School of Management, Paris and an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has also worked with Schlumberger Industries at their Paris office before his MBA and speaks French.
Nitin Mehta, Non - Executive Director
Nitin
Mehta is a non Executive Director at Axience and is responsible for advising on
business strategy and expansion of the firm as well as monitor corporate
governance and compliance. His fulltime responsibility is to lead CFA Institute
in the EMEA region. Nitin has an accomplished background in investment
profession and prior to CFA Institute, he was the head of international
equities at Henderson Global Investors, a UK-based fund manager with both
institutional and retail clients. At Henderson, Nitin was responsible for managing equity teams covering Europe, the
United States
Asia,
and emerging markets in the areas of global equities, technology, and socially
responsible investing. Earlier in his career, Nitin held a variety of positions
of senior responsibility at investment firms including Quorum Capital
Management, a London-based subsidiary of New York Life, where he was head of
currency and derivatives; International Finance Corporation, a private-sector
arm of the World Bank in Washington, D.C., where he was an investment officer;
and Shearson Lehman Global Asset Management in London, where he was head of
global equities.
Nitin earned an MBA from
London
Business
School
in 1986 and also holds a bachelor's degree from the
University
of
Manchester's
Institute of
Science
and Technology. He is married and has two sons of age 10 and 13.
Tarek Walid Tawfik, Investor and Non-Executive Director
Tarek is an Investor in and a Non-Executive Director at Axience. He has more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry with expertise in wealth management, investment management and treasury. Most recently he was the Head of Private Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and managed a portfolio of ultra high net worth clients. Earlier, he worked as the Family Investment Manager for the Abdul Rahman Saad Al-Rashid (ARTAR) Group from 2000 to 2007. Prior to this, he worked in the brokerage division of the Banque Saudi Fransi.
Tarek is a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management, from the King Saudi University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is fluent in Arabic, English and German.
Alex Carre de Malberg, Non-Executive Director
Alex is a Non-Executive Director and helps in promoting brand Axience within Financial Services industry, specifically in Middle East and France.
He is the Head of Investment Banking at Abu Dhabi Investment Company. Earlier, Alex was the co-head of Middle East and Central Asia Investment Banking at Rothschild, where he worked for 10 years. He has also worked as an investment banker at Lazard Freres (New York), Peregrine Capital (Hong Kong) & Equinox Capital (Singapore). Alex holds a French engineering degree, a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from HEC-ISA where he also teaches M&A from time to time.
